Job description:
Managers at GMO Japan Market Intelligence(JMI) are responsible for overseeing and supporting the work of teams of research executives and senior research executives.
Managers, like their subordinates, will have the opportunity to work on all types of methodologies - both qualitative and quantitative - and across a broad range of client industries.
Managers will primarily support research executives when they:
- Attend client hearings to assess needs
- Design studies to provide appropriate solutions
- Manage some aspects of the project set-up (with project support team)
- Analyze data and write report
- Present findings to the client
- Manage & develop key client accounts between projects
Managers have a responsibility for controlling workflow and checking quality control of the work of their subordinates.
Training:
Training is mostly on the job, with the support of the company’s senior management team (Directors) who work day-to-day with the company’s managers. In addition “Training Sessions” are held on a weekly basis. There is also the opportunity to attend workshops run by professional bodies in marketing and research industry.

Skills required:
- Experience of marketing, research, branding or consulting (3 yrs min)
- Experience of managing other professionals in these industries
- Interest in branding & marketing issues
- Strong analytical skills and logical thinking
- Good communication skills (ideally with business English)
- Ability to work in a multicultural team
- Enthusiasm and creativity in meeting challenges
